Burrito recipes

What is the difference between burrito recipes and taco recipes?

Tacos and burritos are both types of food found in Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine consisting of a tortilla with a filling, but a few differences separates them from each other.

Tacos are sometimes made with corn tortillas, while a burrito is always served in a flour tortilla. The size of the tortillas in a burrito is also larger and the filling is fully enclosed.

Traditionally, in Mexico, burritos often includes meat (beef, ground meat or asada, chicken, pork, fish, or goat), rice, beans, potatoes, sausage, cheese and different hot and mild chiles. In America burritos are often topped with more cheese, lettuce and sour cream. The authentic Mexican burrito is usually thin and small, only containing one or two ingredients.

Burritos are originally from northern Mexico, and although they are not common in other parts of Mexico they are one of the most popular Mexican cuisines outside of Mexico. However, outside of Mexico these recipes have often changed a lot from the authentic burritos, to the point where it might not even be recognized as a burrito.

Here’s a few enticing burrito recipes you can use to get inspired.
