Taco recipe with ground beef

This is one of the most used taco recipes I have. It is very easy to prepare and I normally keep all the ingredients for this dish, so that I can prepare something quickly if I don’t have much time for cooking, or just don’t feel like spending much time in the kitchen that day.

Ingredients:

1 pound (0,5 kg) ground beef
1 onion
1 bell pepper

Taco seasoning:
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2-1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions:

Brown the ground beef. Add onion and bell peppers. Stir until the ground beef is no longer pink. Add the taco seasoning ingredients. Add a bit of water and let it simmer for a while.

Serve with fajitas or taco shells, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, shredded cheese, salsa, corn and sour cream.

This taco recipe can easily be turned into a low carb dish by serving it as a taco salad. It is also great to serve when you are having guests and don’t know what they can eat, since you can serve the ingredients in different bowls and let everyone help themselves.

A cookbook that is a must have for anyone interested in adding more taco recipes to their cooking arsenal is the “salsas and tacos” cookbook. It contains 24 salsa recipes and a unique collection of tasty, easy-to-prepare taco recipes.

I made this tonight and they were great! My boyfriend is the taco guy so I made them for him (he usual uses taco seasoning from the package but we were out)so I made these and he loved them. He said they tasted better than the taco seasoning at the store. The only thing I tweaked was the amounts I found I had to double (some triple) the amount of ingredients, when I tried it it just tasted too bland. Thanks for the recipe
